The Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics offers a year-round internship program for UC San Diego undergraduate students that are interested in bioinformatics and computational biology research. This includes the mining of large-scale molecular datasets (i.e. sequencing) to understanding biological pathways and human disease. Specifically, we are interested in students with good coding and/or statistical analysis skills. Areas of research include natural language processing, search/databases, graph theory and network analysis, cloud computing, Hadoop/MapReduce, and data visualization. The application period is typically in March of each year for the following Summer, Fall and Winter quarter internship program.
